Limestone Community High School has named Erin Vietti as its new principal beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.

Vietti earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University.  She earned a second master’s degree from Bradley University in Educational Administration.  She began her professional career in 2007 at Pekin Community High School where she remained.  While at Pekin, Vietti taught in the science department where she also served as department chairperson before becoming the assistant principal.

“I have always considered myself a collaborative servant leader and have a commitment to supporting the growth of others while working together to achieve common goals.  I value the input and expertise of others and strive to create a culture of trust, respect, and shared responsibility. A positive work environment and strong sense of community is important to me, and I am very excited to collaborate with an amazing staff!” shared Vietti.

Vietti, a Peoria native, is familiar with LCHS and is excited about her new role in the Limestone community.  “I know that Limestone has a strong sense of community and collaboration among staff, students, parents, and the broader community. I am passionate about setting our youth up for success and a strong community creates an environment that fosters student success and well-being.  I was drawn to the Limestone community for this reason as well as the fact that I have always admired the educators, students, and larger community who bolster what it truly means to be a Limestone Rocket,” she explained.

After almost 20 years as a Dragon, Vietti is looking forward to becoming a Rocket and making an impact.  She believes, “Each and every individual has valuable contributions to Limestone and before I seek to achieve any tactical accomplishments, I must first understand the unique nuances of the faculty, staff, and greater community and learn how to collaborate as effectively as possible.  However, I hope to continue fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.  For me, this means that every student and staff member feels valued and supported. I look forward to enhancing the overall academic excellence and innovative learning environment that prepares students for success in the 21st Century!”

Vietti will take over the position in July as current principal Keith Brown becomes superintendent following the retirement of Dr. Allan Gresham.
