What's Happening Today at LCHS
Forty-three students attended the Healthcare Career Experience field trip to Methodist College of Nursing sponsored by Skills USA. Students had a chance to meet with medical professionals from Carle Health for hands-on demonstrations to learn about different careers in the medical field. #rocksolid
Anatomy classes took a field trip to the OSF Jump Simulation Center. They could get a tour of the facility, see a demonstration with mannequins, & visit the anatomy wet lab where they could see actual pig lungs inflate and deflate.

Alumni Katie (Hines) Beachler and Megan (Funke) Gibbons came to speak with Student Council representatives about leadership, the value of working in teams, and cultivating the skills they developed while serving on student council within their professional/adult lives. #rocksolid
Standard Biology students worked through an activity focused on homeostasis and feedback loops that involved graphing heart rate at rest, after physical activity, and recovery. #rocksolid
